Soon-to-be free agents for Cardinals fans to know in Rams-Lions

Arizona Cardinals fans do not get to see their team in the postseason. They do get to watch a bunch of teams with players who will be free agents and could be potential Cardinals targets.

The Sunday night Wild Card game is between the Los Angeles Rams and Detroit Lions.

The following players on the Lions and the Rams are set to be free agents and could fit needs the Cardinals have this coming offseason.

Rams CB Ahkello Witherspoon

 Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

The Cardinals could use veteran help at cornerback. Witherspoon has played all over the NFC West and will be 29 years old.

He started all 17 games this season for the Rams, had three interceptions and broke up 14 passes.

And at 6-foot-2 and 195 pounds, he fits the athletic profile the Cardinals like.

Rams LB Christian Rozeboom

Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

Rozeboom is not a full-time defensive player but plays linebacker in some packages, much like Krys Barnes and Josh Woods did while Kyzir White was healthy. With both Woods and White set to be free agents, the Cardinals need a linebacker alongside White.

Rozeboom had 79 tackles, four pass breakups and an interception in 2023.

Lions WR Josh Reynolds

The Cardinals would be wise to redo their receiving room. Reynolds is not spectacular but has a pair of 600-yard seasons, including 2023. He offers length at 6-foot-3.

Lions OL Jonah Jackson

Detroit Lions guard Jonah Jackson warms up before the Denver Broncos game at Ford Field in Detroit on Saturday, Dec. 16, 2023.

The Cardinals do not have a certain left guard. Jackson is a very good one and he was drafted while Cardinals assistant general manager Dave Sears was running the Lions’ scouting department.

Lions LB Jalen Reeves-Maybin

Reeves-Maybin is a Pro Bowl special teamer. With Josh Woods and Zeke Turner, both stud special teams players who play linebacker, hitting free agency, Reeves-Maybin could be a nice fit, especially if he can transition to a full-time role on defense line Woods was able to do this year.
