Son of infamous 'lotto gran' banned from shops after turning to life of crime

The son of a renowned "lotto gran" who tried to claim more than £15 million by saying she'd accidentally washed the winning ticket turned to crime following his mum's death, a court heard.

Brandon Scott has been banned from a string of shops to "give them a break" as his life had spiralled into drug-taking and criminal behaviour after finding Susanne Hinte's body in August 2019.

The notoriety of his mum’s attempt to claim half of a £33million jackpot by saying the ticket had been destroyed in the washing machine had contributed to Scott’s slide into addiction and crime, his barrister said.
