Son Heung-min discusses Antonio Conte's frustration and what Spurs boss did during Leeds win

Son Heung-min has been explaining what makes Antonio Conte and Harry Kane so special for Tottenham Hotspur.

Inconsistent Tottenham got back on track with a 4-0 win at Leeds United in the Premier League on Saturday, having lost 1-0 at Burnley following an impressive 3-2 victory at champions Manchester City.

After that Burnley defeat, an emotional Conte had called for talks with the club and even floated the idea that he might leave the north London outfit if that was the best solution to what was then four defeats in five matches.

Son has made it clear that he does not want the Italian to be heading off into the sunset any time soon.

"Obviously we were all frustrated after the result. Obviously we know we can do better, especially with Burnley [because] we know how difficult that place is," he said.

"We let us down and we were disappointed. [Against Leeds] we wanted to show great character, to show we can improve. We showed that.

"We have a fantastic manager. He brings passion, he brings so much positive energy. We are all happy to work with him. I think it’s so, so important we keep this.

"Obviously we won [at Elland Road], we can be better, but we can’t be super, super happy because we have many more games to come.

"We have to be consistent, stay focused, stay well and get some other good games."

Conte is a ball of energy on the touchline and he received a yellow card from referee Craig Pawson after complaining vociferously about a challenge on Cristian Romero.

Son admits he loves that side of the Tottenham head coach.

"That’s why he’s special. He’s so passionate," he said. "He wants to win, he wants clean sheets, he wants us to be better.

"This I think is such a positive signal. We should take this as improvement and we should be also that passionate for the games coming."

Son and Kane set a new record on Saturday with their 37th goal combination when the latter set up the former to fire home Spurs' fourth goal in the 85th minute.

They have now moved clear of Chelsea's Frank Lampard and Didier Drogba for the most goal combinations in the Premier League era.

"It’s an amazing, amazing achievement but obviously we didn’t concentrate on this because of the midweek result, because we wanted to bounce back, show a great team performance and we did," said Son. "The history is also important but the most important thing was to get three points."

Kane looks to be back to his best and was unplayable for much of the wins against City and Leeds, as the team's striker but also its chief playmaker.

"What can I say more about Harry? Ppffffff. I think any compliment, I’m gone. I can’t say any more words about him," admitted Son.

"You can say ‘superb’. You can say ‘phenomenal’. It’s not enough for me. I’ve played together with him for a long time and I’m still looking at him and thinking, ‘Wow, this is unbelievable’, you know?

"So I think the words are not enough for me. He’s just an unreal player. I’m really happy to work with him every day and playing together is a big honour."

He added: "When you think a striker is always scoring goals and a number 10 is also making assists, he can do both for two or three seasons.

"He wants to improve for himself. This is his ability, he’s so good to watch. He can play number 10, number nine. Whatever we need. To have a striker like this is massive.

"What can I say? What I can about Harry? He’s doing so well, we’re glad to have him and we can still help him as well to get many goals.

"He’s a striker and he’s still hungry for goals and big things as a team. We need to help him as well, work for him, create chances for him. This is a team thing."

Tuesday night brings the fifth round of the FA Cup and a trip to Championship side Middlesbrough, who knocked out Manchester United at Old Trafford in the last round.

When asked whether the club needed to win trophies for long-serving stars like Kane, Son said it was something everyone needs at Tottenham.

"It's not just Harry! Everyone wants to win. Everyone does. To win a trophy you need to suffer a lot," he said. "I play for the win. Obviously I want to enjoy playing football but at the end of the day there’s a winner and a loser.

"This game is a long way from the FA Cup final but everyone, every team wants to win, but who suffers more I think wins.

"It means a lot for me. I’m going to work hard and play hard for the team, for myself, for the club. I think it means a lot. I can’t say what it means to win a trophy for this club. It’s going to be incredible, but we need to suffer a lot.

"Not only this game. I’m ready to suffer in every game. I will try my best like I always do."

For Tottenham, the key now is to find some consistency to their performances and results.

"We will try as hard as possible to play consistently like this. I think it was a great performance [against Leeds] but as I said before, we can’t be happy when you win," said Son.

"You can’t be too disappointment when you lose. We need to be consistent. We need to really prepare well for the games, be humble and I think this is really important for the rest of the season."
