Son Heung-min and Harry Kane's Tottenham fear factor shown amid West Ham star's honest claim

Harry Kane and Son Heung-min are arguably Tottenham's two biggest attacking threats. Last season, the duo broke the Premier League record for the most combination goals.

With the England captain finding himself drop into a deeper role, this has developed their on-field relationship even more, with both assisting one another and scoring themselves. This season has been a bit of a slow start for both players, compared to the high expectations placed upon them.

Both have been in all three of Antonio Conte's starting line-ups, with Spurs winning two and drawing one of their initial games. However, Son hasn't been at his best, although is still making some form of impact in the game.

Kane had a quiet first performance, but has already looked brighter, scoring in the 2-2 draw against Chelsea and netting the only goal of the match against Wolves. The duo have welcomed the likes of Dejan Kulusevski and Richarlison to the front three in recent months, giving them added strength and attacking options.

Looking back almost two years ago and West Ham travelled to N17 to face the Lilywhites. Son and Kane were both doing what they do best, with the South Korean scoring in the first minute and Kane adding a brace within the next 15 minutes.

However, it all went downhill for Tottenham in the second half, with the Hammers scoring three goals in the final 12 minutes of the game, with the third being scored by Manuel Lanzini in the 94th minute. Ahead of the game, David Moyes gave a clear warning to his side about Spurs' attacking duo and Vladimir Coufal recently opened up on this, when speaking to Bezfrazi (via The Spurs Web).

"Our coach told us before the match that Son and Kane are dangerous. And I was afraid of them – plus, these two scored three goals in just the first 15 minutes," he admitted.

"I was thinking maybe the coach would get me off the field, even though the goals were not my mistake. It would be the coaches’ right, nonetheless.

"Seventy minutes in and we were still losing 3-0. I begged the time to be over. I played so well that I could go on for another two halftimes. I was everywhere on my side of the field, knowing our opponents had no idea how to get through me," Coufal added.

"No. I’m not just an extra here. I’m supposed to be leading here. I rightfully belong here. Son had nothing in the rest of the game and I realized what self-confidence can do; how easy football can be because of it. In the end, we tied 3-3."

The 30-year-old had opened up on the impact self-confidence can have on a player and this is something many Tottenham players seem to thrive off. Coufal's admission that he was 'afraid' of Son and Kane just reiterates their quality.

Both have improved since Conte's arrival, despite them being at a high level before he took over. Son and Kane are part of the Italian's front three that cause so much of danger to opposing sides.

The 53-year-old Italian needs all of his players to have this aggression and threat when they play every game, which makes their opponents 'afraid' to play them. Coufal used this word to describe the duo two years ago and they have only improved since them, so they just need to keep that up in order to continue their success under Conte.
