World Cup breakout star Sofyan Amrabat has hinted that he prefers a potential winter move to La Liga side Atletico Madrid after admitting he likes Diego Simeone's style of play.
Amrabat has been in fine form during this winter's finals in Qatar and has led Morocco to history as they have become the first African country to reach the final four of the World Cup, where they take on reigning champions France at the Al Bayt Stadium.
The 26-year-old has started all five games so far and has been instrumental in triumphs over Belgium, Spain and Portugal. Such form has seen the Fiorentina midfielder linked with moves to Liverpool, Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain and more recently Atletico Madrid.

However, it now appears that the midfielder has his eyes on a move to the Wanda Metropolitano after admitting that he is a fan of Atleti's style of play under Simeone.
Speaking to Spanish publication Marca, Amrabat said: “I’m proud to be linked to top clubs like Barcelona and Atlético. But I’m a Fiorentina player, I respect the club and I’ve a great relationship with the president.
"[Diego] Simeone? We have a good coach at Fiorentina too but… yes, I like El Cholo's [ Simeone's] style [of play]”.
Last week it was reported that Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp had previously held talks with Amrabat's entourage and the two parties had planned to resume talks once Morocco's World Cup campaign had ended.
But earlier this week the player's brother, former Watford attacker Nordin, begged PSG chairman Nasser Al-Khelaifi to make a move for the Fiorentina man in an interview with French publication L'Équipe and later claimed the Ligue 1 champions would be an ideal club for Amrabat.
It has been far from quiet on the transfer front for Klopp's side despite the mid-season break, with reports from Argentina on Monday claiming that Liverpool have reached a 'pre-agreement' with Benfica for Argentine breakout star Enzo Fernandez.
The Reds are said to be long-term admirers of the 21-year-old, who will appear in the World Cup final in Qatar on Sunday afternoon.
