A Birmingham-based HR software provider has been acquired by a North West rival. Natural HR was founded by husband and wife team Jason and Sarah Dowzell and runs cloud-based HR software products.
It has now been bought out by Moorepay which also offers payroll and HR software and services, and advice and consultancy to SMEs in the UK and Ireland.
This acquisition combines Natural HR's strengths in HR software with Moorepay's specialism in managed payroll services, software and HR consultancy.
Moorepay said the undisclosed deal would accelerate its strategy to create a unique product in the market. It will take on Natural HR's office in Birmingham city centre, adding to its existing bases in Greater Manchester and Farnborough.
Natural HR has won several awards for its work including being crowned Scale Up Business of the Year at our West Midlands Tech Awards in 2021 while Mrs Dowzell was named West Midlands Woman in Tech in 2019.
She said: "We're delighted to be joining the Moorepay family and I'm thrilled it is continuing with our Birmingham office.
"This city is where we started up from a seed investment round in 2015, from there we began growing our talented team to become a business supporting over 250 customers and 100,000 employees.
"We took on our Lionel Street office in 2022 to continue with our expansion plans and deliver in-person training sessions to our customers and we've had great feedback on our service.
"This acquisition means we can continue creating regional employment and enhancing our service offering."
Moorepay's managing director Anthony Vollmer added: "We're thrilled to welcome Natural HR colleagues to Moorepay and we're all really excited by the opportunity this combination will bring.
"Building on our exceptional growth over the past year, we wanted to strengthen our HR software offering to our customers. Natural HR is the perfect fit in terms of culture, technology, functionality and most importantly, meeting customer needs."
The Birmingham office of law firm Browne Jacobson advised Natural HR on the deal.
