Software engineer blackmailed and duped of Rs 1.94 lakh by online fraudster in Bhopal

BHOPAL: An unidentified online fraudster allegedly posing as international courier company executive called a 31-year-old Bengaluru based software engineer, who had come to his home in Bhopal, threatening him that a parcel was booked for Taiwan using his identity documents and it contained drugs.

When the software engineer refused to have booked any parcel, the accused caller connected him to another mobile number saying that it was a cyber-cop's mobile number and he should report the matter to him. The fraudsters involved the software engineer in their conversation while blackmailing and threatening him and siphoned Rs 1.94 lakh from his bank account.
