Sofía Vergara’s Pool House Makes a Surprisingly Strong Case for Mediterranean Style All Year Round, and It’s More Achievable Than You Think

Sofia Vergara.

The combination of terracotta and sandstone is a timeless pairing, embodying the subtle glamour of European summers. Add aged planters with climbing vines, and we can't get enough. Sofía Vergara reinvents the look once again at her Beverly Hills mansion.

The actress's Los Angeles home is a sprawling, Mediterranean-style wonder, and the same goes for her backyard. Vergara gave fans a sneak peek into the outdoor of her home in a recent Instagram post that includes her Spanish pool house in the background. The stunning structure features limestone floors, a fluted terracotta roof, and matte white walls. The curved doorways and carved pillars feel like a trip to Spain in a picture.

Sofía's decor is equally beautiful. Her Mediterranean patio idea features a beautiful white bistro set arranged around the built-in fireplace. Slate defines a pathway stretching from the poolhouse. The most notable feature is a variety of stunning planters, like this terracotta urn from Amazon, all filled with beautiful green plants.

Recreate Sofía's Look at Home

Though not everyone will have a pool house on their property, many of the accessories from Sofía's design are surprisingly easy to source. Here are our editors' picks for recreating the look.

Furthermore, according to Grace Thornton, Landscaping expert at Marshalls Plc, Sofía's Mediterranean look will be a major garden design trend for 2026. She explains: 'We’ve all wanted to bottle that feeling you get from relaxing outside on a warm summer's evening whilst abroad. Taking that look and feel and making it work for your garden is a great way to create your own local escape!'

Luckily, as Sofía's backyard shows, this style is not as difficult to emulate as it may seem. Grace advises: 'You’ll want to look at color and materials to achieve a Mediterranean-style garden. For landscaping, you’ll want to opt for warm natural tones available from products such as Sandstone. This will offer a rustic feel to the space while bringing a light and airy aura to your garden.'

She continues: 'From here, you’ll want to consistently incorporate earthy, natural tones and materials, such as terracotta paints and pots. Introducing blues can be a great option if you want a pop of colour, mimicking the blue sky and sea of a Mediterranean landscape. You can achieve this by including outdoor feature tiles or colored plant pots. Having a blend of materials helps add charm, depth, and life to your garden, and grass is no exception. Green space is great for biodiversity, cooling, and helping with the rainfall we’ve come to expect.'

With the right design, outdoor spaces can be just as impactful as the interiors of our homes. Incorporating a mix of materials, beautiful plants, and taking inspiration from beautiful buildings from the past works every time.
