Sofia Coppola has shared the story behind a photograph in her 2023 book Archive, featuring Kirsten Dunst as Marie Antoinette on her way home from a ball in the early hours of the morning.

Speaking at a BFI London Film Festival session on Thursday (9 October), the Oscar-winning writer and director was shown the image and asked to recall an anecdote about it.
