A €100 child benefit boost will be given to families around the country later this year.
The measure is part of the €410m social protection package announced by the Government earlier this week to assist with the rising cost of living. The bonus will be paid per child, not per family.
The Government has confirmed that the the €100 boost will be paid in June. It is likely that the payment will be paid on the same day as the normal child benefit, which will be Tuesday, June 6.

The bonus welfare payment will be issued sometime in April. A €200 payment for Working Family Payment recipients who have not received the lump sum on their primary payment, will also be paid in April.
