Social welfare Ireland: Changed date for payments due to St Patrick's Day

Social welfare recipients should take note that there will be changes to payment dates next week due to St Patrick's Day.

The public holiday falls on a Friday this year and all banks and post offices will be closed for the day. Any payments that are supposed to be paid on Friday will be issued early.

Welfare payments that fall on Friday the 17th will be paid the day before, on Thursday the 16th. For part time or casual jobseekers, payments due to be paid on 17th March should be paid on Tuesday 21st March.
