'So happy': Beloved restaurant to return after 30 years

A BELOVED restaurant is returning to Clarkston after 30 years.

Italian eatery Paolo's will reopen, taking over the space on Helena Place which used to be Michaelangelo's.

An exact opening date is yet to be announced, but it appears to be soon as the team said they will be open on Christmas Day.

A staff member shared the news on a local community group on social media and said they were "excited" to welcome customers once again.

(Image: Facebook) Locals shared their excitement at the return of an old favourite, with one commenting: "Loved that restaurant so happy it’s coming back."

Another added: "Welcome back."

A third wrote: "Congratulations."

Michaelangelo's, which also served Italian cuisine, closed in October after many years in the Clarkston area.

The team made the sad announcement to diners and thanked them for their support and for the "adventure" they have had.
