SNP members vote to introduce plans for new Scottish land tax

SNP members have backed calls for the Scottish Government to develop plans to introduce a land tax. A resolution at the party’s conference in Aberdeen on Saturday calling for the move passed unanimously.

Submitted by SNP minister Hannah Mary Goodlad and Deputy First Minister Jenny Gilruth, the motion argued that wealth inequality is one of the major issues facing Scotland.
