With summer fast approaching many people around the country might be getting their shorts ready to enjoy a bit of sunny weather but that might be a bit premature.
While temperatures are set to shoot up over the coming weeks as we move towards May and the more glorious months of the Irish calendar weather-wise, national forecaster Met Éireann has put forward some grim predictions for the week ahead.
From scattered showers to the prospect of snow blasting down on parts of the country on some days - here is everything you need to know about Met Éireann’s forecast for the week ahead.

Tonight: Heavy showers will become isolated tonight with long clear spells developing. The lowest temperatures will range from zero degrees in the north to plus four degrees in the south, in mostly light southwesterly or variable winds.
Tuesday: Tomorrow will start out with widespread showers, some heavy. More persistent rain will develop in the southwest in the afternoon and extend northeastwards. A clearance will follow from the west in the early evening.
The highest temperatures will range from seven to 10 degrees in light to moderate southwest to south winds, increasing fresh to strong westerly in the evening.
However, it will turn windy overnight with strong and gusty northwesterly winds developing, increasing very strongly in western and southwestern areas later.
There will be a mix of clear spells and showers through the night, with the chance of sleet or snow over high ground. Lowest temperatures of zero to two or three degrees.
Wednesday: A windy day with very strong and gusty northwest winds and gales in Atlantic coastal areas. Quite wet also with frequent squally showers, some of which will be heavy and prolonged with the chance of isolated thunderstorms and hail.
The highest temperatures are between seven to nine degrees in fresh to strong and gusty northwest winds.
Showers will be more isolated on Wednesday night, becoming mostly confined to western and northern coastal areas with clear spells elsewhere. Lowest temperatures of two to four degrees with fresh and gusty northwest winds.
Thursday: There'll be scattered showers on Thursday, becoming frequent for a time in the afternoon. Highest temperatures of nine to 11 degrees in fresh to strong northwest winds.
On Thursday night it will be mostly dry with clear skies. However, southern and southwestern areas will be cloudier with the potential for patchy outbreaks of rain and drizzle. Lowest temperatures of minus one to plus three degrees with light variable winds.
Friday: There'll be sunny spells and scattered showers, most frequent in the north. Highest temperatures of 10 to 13 degrees in light winds.
Current indications suggest a generally unsettled outlook for the weekend with rain at times, and possibly warmer conditions coming on a southerly wind.
