Small Business Owner In D.C. Pushes For Councilwoman Recall

Chase for Business event for small business owners in Miami

A small business owner in Washington, D.C. is advocating for the recall of a Democrat City Councilwoman following a series of break-ins at her shop. The owner expressed frustration over the repeated incidents, which occurred more than four times within a single year. The break-ins not only caused financial losses but also disrupted business operations, leading to delayed openings and potential loss of customers.

The business owner highlighted the impact of rising crime rates in the city, emphasizing that it has reached alarming levels and is significantly affecting small businesses like theirs. The owner attributed the surge in criminal activities to what they perceive as lenient policies supported by the City Councilwoman, Brianna Doyle. According to the owner, Doyle has been a proponent of defunding the police and endorsing soft-on-crime measures.

Police data revealed a substantial increase in robberies in Washington, D.C., with a spike of over 60 percent reported last year. The business owner's shop falling victim to multiple break-ins serves as a stark example of the challenges faced by local businesses in the current security environment.
