If your internet connection isn't coping under the strain of modern life then Sky might have the solution. The firm has just announced the launch of its all-new router which it says will help make those all-important Wi-Fi speeds far more reliable.
The new device, called WiFi Max, is the firm's most powerful broadband gadget to date and is even backed by a special guarantee. That means if speeds around the home drop below 25Mbps you'll get your money back.
To help make sure that doesn't happen, Sky has packed the Max router with plenty of new technology including Wi-Fi 6 connectivity. This not only copes with faster speeds but also makes sure users suffer fewer dropouts. Wi-Fi 6 is also able to beam the web to more devices at the same time without slowing things down which makes it ideal for properties that are packed with internet-connected gadgets.
To make sure every corner of a property gets access to broadband, Sky's new system also comes with up to three booster Pods which can be strategically placed to end the nightmare of blackspots.
Other nifty features include intelligent cloud optimisation which makes sure the devices using the most bandwidth get the most juice. So, if you are trying to download an 8K video on an iPad that device will get priority over a laptop simply browsing the web.
You also get added security and an easy way to check and control your broadband via the MySky with parents even able to pause certain devices to cut down on screen time.
This all sounds great but how much does it cost? Sky says that prices for WiFi Max start from £10 per month on top of your current contract.
It's also currently only available to new customers and those with broadband, Sky Glass or Sky Stream. If you are a Sky Q user you'll have to wait as it's not currently compatible with this set-top box.
