Skibidi Toilet: The meaning behind North West's $20,000 gift for Kim Kardashian

Kim Kardashian received a lavish 44th birthday present from North West that included an unexpected inscription.

The businesswoman posted a video of the diamond necklace her 11-year-old daughter gave her on Instagram Stories on Monday October 21, the day of her birthday.

The dazzling piece has a gold name plate engraved with the words "Skibidi Toilet", which is a reference to the popular computer graphic web series, and a diamond tennis chain.

“You love Skibidi Toilet!” North asserted, as Kardashian laughed incredulously. “I do?” Kardashian responded.

After saying “Yes!” North turned the pendant over to reveal a second inscription that said “Love, North” and the gift's date.

Skibidi Toilet is a popular YouTube series about toilets with human heads sticking out of the bowl. It revolves around the fictitious conflict between humanoids and the human-headed toilet.

Olivia Landau, chief executive of jewellery brand The Clear Cut, told People magazine that the necklace, which contains .08 to .10 carats of diamonds, could be worth around $15,000 to $20,000.

Additionally, according to Landau, the piece combines two popular current trends: personalised name plates and tennis necklaces.

“People love being able to create added sentiment with their jewellery pieces, especially when gifting,” she says.

Kardashian celebrated her birthday with her three other children, Saint, who is eight years old, Chicago, who is six, and Psalm, who is five.

Kardashian shared on her Instagram story how her kids decorated her home with pink and white balloons that had pictures of her and her family dangling from the strings.

“Look at what Chi Chi and the kids made for me. They made me balloons, but with hanging messages and pictures of each of us,” she said

Kardashian then shared some of the messages from her children, which read: “You are a flower to me” and “You are the best mommy ever”.

The wealthy entrepreneur described how West assisted in customising the balloons with images of Kardashian's face in a different Instagram story. She said: “North, did you make these balloons?”

North answered: “I didn’t make them, but I bought them for you!”

The evening before, Kardashian dazzled at an opulent early birthday celebration in a $2,081 (£1,603) Diesel slip dress she termed her “birthday suit”.

The tight gown featured a semi-sheer skirt.

However, it was West's quirky Skibidi Toilet necklace that stole the limelight, leaving admirers to wonder how much Kardashian truly loves the YouTube series.
