The Scottish Junior Football Association are investigating an alleged racist comment made at an Ayrshire match.
SJFA chiefs are looking into claims that a fan in the home end of the Auchinleck Talbot v Darvel match used racist language towards a Darvel player.
It’s understood that video evidence from Beechwood Park has been passed on to the governing body.
Darvel general manager, David Kerr, told Ayrshire Live: “As a club we are obviously saddened by it, it’s something that we don’t condone.
“We will pass the evidence over to the relevant authorities and it’s in their hands, I think it’s sad that in this day and age that we’re dealing with stone age comments like that.”
Auchinleck chief Henry Dumigan says his club won’t condone any racist language used at Beechwood Park, and will assist the SJFA in any way they can.
He said: “We take a dim view of that sort of thing, we will be happy to assist with any investigation into it.
“Auchinleck Talbot as a club don’t condone that sort of behaviour.
“Until we know anymore and know the identity of the alleged person who did it we can’t say much more and will take it from there.
"The club will study this video evidence at our meeting on Sunday, and investigate thereafter."
Marc Stanton, SJFA president, added: “We are aware of this incident and are currently looking into this allegation.”
