Six Nations: George Furbank gets full-back call as Eddie Jones makes five changes for France meeting

England have selected George Furbank at full-back and recalled Bath duo Will Stuart and Sam Underhill for their final match of the Six Nations, against France in Paris.

Eddie Jones has made five changes to the team that lost to Ireland at Twickenham on Saturday.

Two of those are enforced, with Charlie Ewels banned for three weeks after being red-carded, and replaced by Nick Isiekwe. Tom Curry is ruled out with a hamstring injury, leading to Underhill’s return for the first time this campaign.

Kyle Sinckler is on the bench having gone through graduated return to play protocols this week following a concussion against Ireland. Stuart starts in his place.

Furbank is selected at full-back, with Freddie Steward shifting to the right wing in place of Max Malins, who has been dropped. The other change in the backline is the return of Ben Youngs at scrum-half, with Harry Randall dropping to the bench.

On the bench, Nic Dolly replaces Jamie Blamire, while Ollie Chessum is selected ahead of Joe Launchbury.

England are looking to spoil France’s Grand Slam party, but cannot win the title themselves, having already lost two of their four games.

“We are disappointed not to be in the contention for the trophy but last week’s effort against Ireland was full of pride, energy and tactical discipline,” said Jones.

“We have focused on refreshing the team this week and we are ready to empty the tank on Saturday.”
