Six fire engines rushed to an apartment block in Hunslet, Leeds, this afternoon following reports of a fire.
Residents in high rise flat block Quay One left the building when fire alarms were going off around 10.58am. West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service (WYFRS) crews from Leeds, Hunslet, Killingbeck, and Wakefield rushed to the scene.
Upon arrival firefighters discovered the incident was a false alarm. They found a fault in the fire alarm system had set the alarm off in the building, leaving residents panicked.

The number of fire engines present was due to the size of the building. WYFRS confirmed the details of the call out and said: "We were called to Quay One at 10:58 and 12:17 on 22 September.
"Crews were sent from Leeds, Hunslet, Killingbeck and Wakefield. It's been determined there was a fault in the alarm system and no fire was present, the amount of crews sent is due to the nature of the building.
"Incidents were closed at 11:22 and 12:37 respectively."
