Winter is here and it’s getting colder and darker. Time to hunker down? Absolutely not, when there’s guaranteed sun, beaches, superb food and fascinating culture a mere two hours away.
Sitges is an old fishing and wine growing town that has a history dating back to Roman times. It is delightfully picturesque to look at (ok, ‘instagrammable’), a small bay with its famous Santa Bartomeu & Santa Tecla church at one end, with beauty and charm around every corner. Temperatures there in October, November are usually in the low 20s. I went in late October and there were a couple of days of 27 degrees.
