Continuing their probe into how the explicit videos allegedly of Hassan MP Prajwal Revanna were leaked and circulated, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the sex abuse cases, raided 18 premises in Hassan on Tuesday. All the premises raided on Tuesday are said to belong to those considered close to former Hassan BJP MLA Preetham Gowda.
Sleuths from the SIT raided Quality Bar, which belongs to Sharath and Krishna Hotel, owned by family members of Kiran. The searches were conducted at a residence on Vallabhabai Road, belonging to Punith. Sharath, Kiran and Punith have identified themselves with Mr. Preetham Gowda for a long time. Apart from these several other premises were searched.
It can be recalled that the SIT arrested Likhith Gowda and Chetan, also in connection with the same case. The duo also alleged associates of Preetham Gowda, had allegedly been trying to destroy evidence in the case. SIT had recovered two pen drives and a Central Processing Unit (CPU) of a desktop computer from them.
They were allegedly involved in the circulation of objectionable content related to JD(S) leader Prajwal Revanna, through pen drives and messaging applications, ahead of polling in the Lok Sabha elections.
Poornachandra Tejaswi, an election agent of JD(S) candidate Prajwal Revanna, had filed a complaint with CEN Police Station in Hassan alleging the circulation of objectionable content to defame Mr. Prajwal ahead of the elections. He had named Naveen Gowda and others as accused in the complaint.
ZP member arrested in abduction case
Hours after former Minister H.D. Revanna was granted bail in the abduction case, the Special Investigation Team (SIT), arrested a zilla panchayat member Keerthi Hosur in the case. The zilla panchayat member is reportedly a member of Janata Dal (Secular) and hails from K.R. Nagar. The victim, who was allegedly raped by “absconding” Hassan MP Prajwal Revanna, was allegedly abducted at the behest of Mr. Revanna. The victim hails from K. R. Nagar, Mysuru district and was reportedly rescued from Hunsur. With the arrest of the zilla panchayat member, the number of arrests in the abduction case has risen to seven.
