Sir Rod Stewart is no stranger to charity work and helping others in need. His most recent act of kindness has seen him foot the bill of more hospital scans across the country in a bid to reduce NHS waiting lists.

The Maggie May singer has made it his mission to help patients in Glasgow, Manchester, Birmingham and “as many cities as he can” as he continues to shame 'penny-pinching ministers' with his generosity, writes The Mirror.

The 78-year-old's latest gesture comes after he funded a day’s worth of scans at the Princess Alexandra hospital in Harlow near his Essex home, following a surprise pledge on Sky News in January.
