Singer Dermot Kennedy has announced he has moved to New York.
The Giants star regularly performed in New York and recently organised a charity busk for MusiCares on December 11.
The Better Days singer – who is the nephew of former Nationwide host Mary Kennedy – had been performing in the US as part of his Better Days Are Coming Tour, which was postponed due to Covid-19 restrictions.
And it seems now Kennedy has made a permanent move to the US.
He captioned a picture of himself standing on a rooftop overlooking the city on Instagram: “Just got to New York, and I’m very happy about it.
"Here for the foreseeable. Brought all the new music in my bag with me. Things look good, and this year feels beautiful already.”
Speaking recently to Billboard, the Rathcoole man opened up about how much being an Irishman means to him.
He said at the time: "Being Irish means so much to me. I’m so proud to be an Irish artist and songwriter, following in the footsteps of incredible people like Phil Lynott, Sinead O’Connor, Hozier, Van Morrison.
”I think being Irish helps me to stay grounded too. There’s no room for big egos and self-centeredness when you’re dealing with Irish people, so I’m very glad my friends and family help me stay grounded.”
