A hugely popular wine bar and cafe in the southside has shocked fans by announcing that it is set to close.
Sinclair's in Battlefield has gathered a large following since opening on Sinclair Drive in April 2021, however, the current cost of living crisis and problems with flooding over Christmas has led them to take the "extremely difficult" decision
Posting the sad news on Instagram, they wrote: "Unfortunately we have some sad news to share with you all this morning.
"We have had to make the extremely difficult decision to close our wee cafe indefinitely.
"This has been largely due to a trifecta of difficulties. The downturn in the economy, the extreme energy costs we are currently facing, and finally the impact of having our pipes freeze and the subsequent flooding of the shop in December."

Adding that they have loved being a part of the Battlefield community, they thanked local residents and customers for their support but stated that though their weekends were "rocking", their weekday trade was "sadly not maintaining a sustainable level for them to continue".
They posted: "We would like to say thank you again to our awesome community, and that we will really miss seeing all your familiar faces everyday.
"We would also like to especially thank our amazing team who really are the heart and soul of Sinclairs, and created the welcoming, fantastic atmosphere that defines what Sinclairs has come to be. From the smiley faces out front to the grumpy chefs in the back, it is a fantastic team and we’ll miss the craic."
The much-loved coffee shop will now remain open under its normal operating hours until Sunday, January 22, with the team urging anyone with a voucher to book in as soon as possible.
"This has been a difficult post to write," the post adds. "And we can’t convey how deeply saddened we are at having to write it. We tried, we tried some more, and then we tried again.
"We hope and look forward to seeing you all before the 23rd, and just wanted to say once more, thank you."
Followers of the page were dismayed to hear the news, with one responding: "Sinclairs has been such an amazing and special addition to the Battlefield community. Your team is always so welcoming and friendly, and your coffee and food, in my opinion, and my family's opinion, the best in the area."
While fellow local cafe Bramble added: "This is unbelievably sad and unfair. Something has to be done."
