This Morning viewers were left stunned by Simon Cowell's 'unrecognisable' appearance during latest TV interview.
The music mogul appeared on the ITV breakfast show alongside X Factor star Lucy Spraggan, as they discussed the long-running talent competition. Simon, 63, was also reunited with former X Factor host Dermott O'Leary as he co-hosted the ITV breakfast show with Alison Hammond.
During his interview, the father of one touched on the X-Factor's amazing popularity before going on hiatus in 2018, and ultimately being cancelled in 2021. “People keep asking me about the show – ‘are you going to bring it back?’” he began.
Before pointing out how much the music industry has changed in the last few years with the prevalence of streaming services and social media apps like TikTok. He continued: “100,000 new songs are uploaded every day at the moment.
“It’s good but it’s also difficult. I believe you’ve got to get to know somebody.”
Cowell then shared the ways that he’d considered adjusting the show if it were to return. He explained: “We have talked about that, ‘what would you do differently today?’ There’s a lot I’ve learnt, to be honest with you.
“I think it started to become a bit of a machine. You put a record out that year, and then you move on. That’s not the way to do it. And also, when you throw someone into the limelight, it’s hard, you know?”
However, despite discussing one of his most popular television ventures, viewers were more distracted by Simon's changing appearance.
Viewers took to social media after Simon's interview on the show, as they couldn't believe how much the star has changed since his X Factor days. Discussing his changed appearance and rumoured surgery, one person tweeted: “Errrrmmmmm who is this person pretending to be Simon Cowell??! #ThisMorning".
A second wrote: “Wtf has happened to Simon Cowell?! I can’t process what I’m looking at?! #ThisMorning”. A third said: "Simon seems like a different bloke, what is happening, does he sound different or is that just me? #ThisMorning."
"Simon Cowell actually paid good money to look like that. Next time Simon use it to feed starving kids, you'll look & feel so much better #ThisMorning," ranted another. A fifth said: "Simon Cowell is proof that if you’re a sh** person then you age like sh** too #ThisMorning"
However, some fans were quick to defend the talent show panellist’s appearance, as one person wrote: “Simon looks handsome doesn’t he”.
Another user hit back at some unkind comments, as they said: “People are being so Cruel about Simon Cowell’s appearance. I don’t know why people are so bothered about people changing their appearance – that’s what we call ageing and it’s natural”.
