KOLKATA: As India began their campaign in Women's Junior Asia Cup 2023 against Uzbekistan in Kakamigahara, Japan, on Saturday, around 450 kids sat together and watched the game on a giant screen in a faraway village in Jharkhand.
The children, who are part of a summer camp that is being held in Konaskeli village in Simdega district, quite naturally wanted to see India begin the tournament on a victorious note. But they surely wouldn't have expected what transpired in the end as the Indian team earned an emphatic 22-0 win against their hapless opponents.
