Ninety-two years ago, the Augusta National Invitation Tournament was born. Famed amateur golfer Bobby Jones and banker Clifford Roberts founded Augusta National Golf Club in 1932, and when the United States Golf Association declined to award them a U.S. Open, the men began their own tournament in 1934. A few years later the name was changed to the Masters.
The first major of the year in golf is one of the most famous sporting events in the world and its champions are legendary. This year is the 90th playing of the Masters and in the previous 89 editions there have been 57 unique winners.
