Prince Harry and Meghan Markle quit as working royals in 2020 amid a cloud of mutual accusations of bad treatment, moving instead to California with their growing family and into a new life of US TV interviews and Netflix deals.
Their spat with the Royal Family took place very publicly, with the Sussex's sit-down Oprah interview and its accusations of racism and bullying making a return to royal life incredibly unlikely.
However, in a Mirror interview, Prince Harry's former police protection officer Ken Wharfe believed there was a route back for the Royal Family's red-haired prodigal son. Speaking on the Mirror's Pod Save the Queen podcast, Wharfe said this return could not take place under this monarch.
He said : "But I just have this feeling that he could well be back in a new role, with or without Meghan - I honestly don't know.
"I do think he will be back in some form as part of his father's plan for trimming down the monarchy because within the next decade, that is going to happen."
