Shoppers are turning to weighted blankets to help combat the January blues, with several big name versions of the cosy products reduced in post-Christmas sales.
With people wanting to stay warm and minimise the need for their heating as the cost of living crisis continues, shoppers have already increasingly turned to big throws, heated blankets and Oodie-style hooded blankets to help keep warm on a budget.
But weighted blankets, which can be as heavy as 7kg, not only help keep people warm as they snooze but have been described as 'gamechangers' and a 'firm hug' for people looking to reduce anxiety and sleep better.

Famously, actress Jennifer Lawrence added a Silentnight version of a weighted blanket to her wedding gift list when she married her husband Cooke Maroney, while Kourtney Kardashian has previously said she uses one too.
Previously weighted blankets have tended to be used for therapeutic purposes for children and adults coping with sensory disorders but increasingly they have become more mainstream, with customers praising them for helping them relax, reducing anxiety and improving sleep patterns.
The blankets use so-called deep pressure touch. Where lighter touches, like a tickle, can increase stress or irritation, deep pressure touch acts like a hug, calming the central nervous system and helping release seratonin which can help people sleep better and more deeply.
In recent years they have become even more popular with retailers and shoppers alike as people look at ways to keep warm and reduce anxiety during stressful times.
CosiHome's luxury weighted blankets for adults come in at 6.8kg and are available in a range of colours all of which are reduced by 10% for shoppers using the code WEIGHTED10.
Shoppers have taken to the firm's site to praise the blankets, with reviewers describing it as 'a game changer' that gave them excellent sleep.
One buyer said: "I love this blanket. It's really helping me deal with my depression and anxiety when it gets overwhelming. Lying under this feels like a gentle but firm hug, you can feel the weight of it without feeling pinned down by it. It's also really soft for extra coziness, and I'm sure I'll appreciate being able to remove the extra layer when summer is here. I highly recommend it."
Another added: "Wonderful blanket. I’m new to the weighted variety but this is wonderful. A perfect weight and size. I have never slept so well."
Packed with thousands of hypoallergenic, non-toxic microbeads in nine cotton layers, the blanket comes with a double-sided super soft machine-washable cover making it easy to keep the bedding feeling fresh.
It also comes in a carry bag so can be stored neatly when not in use.
A children's version is 3.2kg, the lighter weight meaning lying under the blanket feels comfortable but not like being pushed down, no matter your size. But if you're looking for slightly heavier blanket to maximise the feeling of being protected then other options are available.
Oodie is mainly famous for the hooded blankets that were top of many people's wish lists thIs Christmas, but the Australian firm also sells weighted blankets and has added them alongside their signature cosy hoodies into their January sale.
What's more the blankets, which come in a range of weights up to a hefty 9kg, are £25 off for shoppers using the code WINTER at checkouts.
