It might not be the healthiest thing to eat, but most people would admit to enjoying a doner kebab every now and then.
Now one supermarket has got shoppers going crazy for its bags of doner meat - so much so they say they'll never buy a takeaway kebab again.
The frozen bags of King Kebab House Doner Kebab Meat are sold by Iceland and have had rave reviews online. And it's not just the taste that's impressing customers, but the price too.
A 350g bag for £4 makes two large kebabs - or you can get them cheaper as part of the three for £10 offer. Or a larger 750g bag is £6, enough to make up to four.
"I will never buy another takeaway doner kebab whilst Iceland continues to sell this!!" says one of the numerous five-star reviews on the retailer's website.
"I really did not expect this to be great, but it is. Much nicer than takeaway kebab meat and not as greasy. I pan-fried this on a medium heat (no oil) for about ten minutes, then toasted a pitta, stuffed the meat inside, topped with chilli sauce and onions. Perfecto !! Iceland - please don't stop selling this."
Another said: "Wow. I used to get the Babek Doner Kebab meat that Iceland used to sell. It always tasted a bit "fake" and did not remind me of proper doner meat. Got the King Kebab House version today and OMG, was like they have taken genuine doner meat off the spit and frozen it.
"I microwaved about 200g for 3.5 minutes and it was perfect. I reckon there is about enough meat in large pack for 3 good doners, at the price of just 1. Just add your **** bread and salad."
A third shopper added: "This is definitely the closest to take away kebab shops. I sprinkled some water before microwave but don't cover it and works wonders. The best ever frozen pack doner kebab."
While another one said: "My son loves this kebab meat.. I haven't got a shop bought one since I started buying this!!"
Instructions on the packet say to shallow fry for eight minutes from frozen, or microwave for five minutes. Some have also recommended grilling it, or putting it in the oven or air fryer for a crispy finish.
One customer say she cooked it in her air fryer for six minutes and described it as 'absolutely amazing'.
