Kim Kardashian's shapewear business Skims has soared in popularity over the last few years. While the brand has been massively successful, its downside is the price tag, with just one bodysuit costing £60.
But now alternatives have hit the market and shoppers are saying they’re just as good. TikTok shop is full of different brands who have ‘duped’ the popular shapewear but there are a few that have really managed to get it right.
One of the best parts of these bodysuits, apart from the way it pulls you in, is the fact you don’t have to wear a bra with it if you don’t want to - which for some is a deal breaker. The thick, tight material is designed to support and hug all areas of the body like a second skin which TikTokers are claiming it does.

There are now loads of brands making these ‘dupe’ versions that shoppers can get their hands on, PloppyDolly, Hottie Diary, Curlady, Shapex, SweetSlims and many more. Prices of these dupes range between around £7 to £13 per item - so around five times cheaper than the expensive Skims version.
While most TikTokers are raving about the item there are some who feel that while it does suck you in, it doesn’t exactly ‘snatch’ them but more like smooths them out. And they’re not the only ones, many people in the comments sections on these videos are questioning whether it actually works as well as they say it does.
One TikToker shared her honest opinion about the item saying: “It’s really comfortable and really secure which I wasn’t expecting…there’s a little gap I didn’t have before and overall U think everything is just a little bit smoother. I don’t think they’re taking off inches as people say they are but they’re definitely comfortable.”
Another said: “It does what it does, it really outlines your waist, but I don’t know if it was worth the hype, I thought it was really going to suck me in even more but it doesn’t really do much.”
