Shocking video has emerged of an elderly man falling into a massive pothole beside a Glasgow bus stop.
The pensioner, who walks with a cane, crumples into the huge hole when he steps from the pavement moments after getting off a First bus.
The man was taken by ambulance to hospital for treatment following the incident on Corkerhill Road in the city’s Cardonald area.
Photos of the pothole show the terrible condition of the street.
A resident, who asked not to be named, said the video footage was “shocking”.
She added: “The pensioner was coming off a bus and going to cross the road.
“He stepped off the pavement into a pothole so big he fell into it, resulting in a forty minute wait for an ambulance while the elderly man lay injured.”
The resident said the pothole was “so big it’s disgraceful”.
She added: “A passerby helped the gentleman up and he walked back to the bus stop and then collapsed.
“It was awful. So many people came to help. They stayed with him and got blankets for him.
“The pothole is massive. Most buses stop before it as it is so big.”
The incident happened at around 1.50pm on Thursday.
City of Glasgow Council has been contacted for comment.
