Residents of an Airdrie street have spoken of their shock after a pensioner died after being hit by a an unoccupied car that rolled down a hill.
The 80-year-old woman, named locally as May Cullen, was with her dog Oscar on Willow Drive at around 8.30pm on Saturday when the tragic incident unfolded. May was pronounced dead at the scene, despite locals rushing out to try and save her, with some administering CPR, the Daily Record reports.
May, of nearby Oakbank Street, was popular in the area and often seen walking with her dog. First responder Jena Hughen, 33, said she heard a bang before she rushed out to try and help.
