Aberdeen have made a fantastic start to life under manager Jimmy Thelin, winning 12 out of 12 so far this season.
Six of those victories have come in the Scottish Premiership, with the Dons and Celtic the only team's to retain a 100 per cent record going into October.
Rangers are five points behind the leading pack, but are expected to be up there challenging again throughout the campaign too.
Aberdeen's surprise surge to the top so early into Thelin's tenure has caught the attention of some prominent pundits down south in recent week's.
This time legendary English Premier League striker, Alan Shearer, has been discussing the Pittodrie club's chances of becoming the first non-Old Firm side to win the league title since the 1984-85 season, when Alex Ferguson guided Aberdeen to Premier Division silverware.

And the former Newcastle United ace believes the fact Aberdeen don't have any European commitments to distract them could work in their favour as he noted that a change would be refreshing for Scottish football.
Speaking exclusively to Betfair, Shearer said: "When you look at the start to the season Aberdeen have had, winning all 12 games under a new manager, the longer it goes on you'd have to think they're serious contenders to upset Celtic and Rangers this season.
"Everyone’s talking about them and that can only be a good thing. I hope it continues because it'd be great if someone upset the apple cart up in Scotland.
"It would be great for the Scottish Premiership if they could win the title. They've had an amazing start.
"When you look at what happened to Celtic in Dortmund earlier this week, the result, the travel and everything else then that can only help Aberdeen, there's no doubt about that.
"It's great that Celtic are in the Champions League but in terms of what Aberdeen are trying to achieve, the heavy defeat as well as the extra games in Europe can only help them achieve what seems like the impossible and win the top-flight title."
