Shawn Mendes has finally addressed rumours that he’s dating fellow musician Sabrina Carpenter.
The 24-year-old shut down speculation in sensationally blunt fashion after dating rumours began swirling last month.
Gossip blog DeuxMoi had reported that they pair were “clearly on a date” at a restaurant in Los Angeles, where they appeared to be “very comfortable”.
The rumour mill churned even more then they were seen strolling around LA running errands a week later.
But the singer quashed speculation in impressive style while on TV promoting his new partnership with Tommy Hilfiger.
The Stitches singer told the Dutch TV program RTL Boulevard that they “are not dating”.
He then added: “But I think we should talk about Tommy Hilfiger probably more than Sabrina. Thank you,” making it clear that he would like to change the subject.
Sabrina is preparing to tour the world on her Emails I Can’t Send tour, which will see her cross North America, South America and parts of Southeast Asia for two months.
She’s also recently signed to star in an upcoming Alice in Wonderland musical for Netflix.
Elsewhere in Shawn’s love-life, he’s fuelled romance rumours with his 51-year-old chiropractor as the pair attended the Grammy Awards.
He was seen arriving at the star-studded ceremony's official after party with Dr Jocelyne Miranda after enjoying the glitzy bash in February.
It was only earlier in January that the pair were spotted entering Shawn's home in California after weeks of meet-ups – as fans continue to speculate on their close relationship.
They have been spotted going out for lunch together and accompanying each other on the weekly shop – and their friendship actually goes way back.
Dr Miranda has worked as the Grammy nominee's personal chiropractor for several years and has been on tour with him dozens of times.
Neither of the two have addressed the romance rumours, never speaking of the possibility that the pair were romantically linked.
The closer relationship comes after Shawn cancelled the remainder of his Wonder world tour so that he could focus on his mental health.
Prior to the recent dating rumours, the In My Blood singer was in a relationship with Camila Cabello.
The Canadian started dating the fellow singer-songwriter in July 2019 but split in November 2021 after spending much of the pandemic quarantining together.
