Shaun Wright-Phillips lauds 'outstanding' Jesse Marsch Leeds United call against Chelsea

Leeds United's win over Chelsea was one of the results of the weekend with Jesse Marsch taking all the plaudits. The American head coach 'stepped out of Marcelo Bielsa's shadow' according to many pundits with a scintillating win.

Marsch got his tactics right throughout the 90 minutes but former Chelsea winger Shaun Wright-Phillips believes the use of substitutes helped Leeds maintain their heavy pressure.

The likes of Jack Harrison, Brenden Aaronson and Tyler Adams all stood out against the Blues and Wright-Phillips is the latest pundit and former player to heap praise on the Whites' game plan.

He told the Premier League: "It worked perfectly just as you said. He lets you blow yourself out - blow a gasket in a way - so that you're working that hard.

"You saw his first sub was at 60 minutes and then he made another three attacking subs to go on and keep that tempo high. I thought Leeds were outstanding. They showed Chelsea, in a way, what it is to play with a bit of heart and fight really."
