The New Orleans Saints are receiving mixed responses to a late-game touchdown against the Falcons. Shannon Sharpe is the latest person going scorched earth on the decision, and Jameis Winston for championing it.
Oh, boy. The Saints have really stepped in it. The team was up 41-17 late in the fourth quarter against the Atlanta Falcons when they decided to give Jamaal Williams the ball so he could score a touchdown.
There’s just one problem: New Orleans head coach Dennis Allen was not part of that decision and had told the team to get in victory formation.
That decision led to former Falcons head coach Arthur Smith sharing some NSFW post-game words with Allen and Allen apologizing. Jameis Winston also tried to explain the rationale for the decision but didn’t exactly make it better.
After hearing Winston’s explanation, ESPN media personality Shannon Sharpe unleashed verbal fury on Winston in a fiery rant and said Winston would be cut if it were him.
