WWE chief Vince McMahon has released his own son Shane from the promotion after last month's Royal Rumble controversy, according to reports.
The 52-year-old was a producer for the men's event and appeared in the match himself, entering at number 28 and making it through to the final three.
He was eliminated by eventual winner Brock Lesnar, but was slammed by fans for apparently booking the match in his own favour.
McMahon was expected to follow up that appearance with a role at the Elimination Chamber in Saudi Arabia later this month, while a shot at Wrestlemania 38 was also on the cards in April.
But now, according to Ringside News, his latest stint in action appears to be over after he was "let go" by father and WWE supremo Vince.
Ringside News reports Shane was a "nightmare" to work with as a producer of the Royal Rumble, openly changing details of the event away from what his father had envisioned.
A source said: "Vince had no choice. Shane created chaos, had everyone in an uproar, p***ed off everyone in the Rumble, openly buried other producers, and was changing things that Vince wanted.
"Vince had no other choice but to send him home."
As a result, there will be "no more creative discussions about Shane McMahon" within the WWE, the report adds.
The Rumble itself was won by Brock Lesnar, who made up for defeat earlier in the event in the WWE Championship at the hands of Bobby Lashley.
Lashley had help from Roman Reigns, who made the most of the chaos by sneaking into the ring to spear Lesnar before Lashley pinned his downed rival to win the contest.
That interaction between Reigns and Lesnar looks set to be the prequel to a thriller in April, after Lesnar selected the Tribal Chief as his Wrestlemania 38 opponent.
The Royal Rumble event was also a memorable one due to the return of Ronda Rousey, who appeared for the first time in almost three years.
She came into the women's Rumble event at number 28, reaching the final two with Charlotte Flair before sending her rival over the top rope and securing a place at Wrestlemania.
Rousey will face either Flair or Becky Lynch at that showpiece event, with her decision set to come at the Friday Night SmackDown.
