Shane Lowry said he hoped he did his uncle 'proud' as he shared an emotional message after the Honda Classic.
The 2019 Open Champion decided to play in the tournament and dedicated the week to his uncle Jimmy, who passed away suddenly.
News broke last week of Jimmy Lowry's passing and Shane wore Ferbane GAA colours on his hat to honour his uncle.
Lowry would go on to finish in a tie for fifth place and shared an emotional post after the event.
He said on social media: "Tough week for me and my family… I hope I did you proud Jim".
It wasn't to be for Lowry on the final day of the Honda Classic as he shot a final round level par, 70.
The Offaly man finished five shots off leaders Chris Kirk and Eric Cole.
Kirk would go on to win the event in a playoff.
