Shakhtar Donetsk have confirmed that Chelsea are close to agreeing a transfer for Mykhaylo Mudryk after a meeting between Blues co-owner Behdad Eghbali and Shakhtar president Rinat Akhmetov.
Arsenal looked to be on the verge of signing Mudryk, but as revealed by Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea swooped in for the 22-year-old and now look set to agree a deal with the Ukrainian club.
The public valuation from Shakhtar appears to have been met by Chelsea, who will pay a £62million fee up front with a further £26million available in add-ons.

Arsenal sent off their third bid earlier this week and technical director Edu travelled to Warsaw in an attempt to finalise the deal. However, Paul Winstanley and other Chelsea senior staff travelled to Turkiye to in the hopes of hijacking the deal, and that appears to have been successful.
The full statement from Shakhtar's English language Twitter account read: "FC Shakhtar president Rinat Akhmetov and Chelsea co-owner Behdad Eghbali discussed Mykhailo Mudryk’s transfer to Chelsea FC today. Parties are very close to agree on player’s transfer to the club."
