Call us premature, but the sun is shining in London today and spring feels right around the corner. If you’ve also found yourself with warmer days on your mind, the collaboration for you has just dropped.
Paris It-brand Sézane has teamed up with Sea NY, which has a cult following thanks to its swoon-worthy (but not cheap) patchwork, quilted coats. The new capsule collection comes with all the bohemian charm of Sea NY, but with Sézane’s less gulp-worthy price tags.
The 40-piece drop revolves around classic, exaggerated silhouettes; tailored jackets come with oversized lace collars and blouses have gigantic ruffles down the centre. Sea NY’s signature floral prints come as snug blanket coats, as well as padded gilets, and a selection of blouses and midi-length, summer dresses. There are clogs fashioned from suede patchwork and wide-collared cream knitwear with charming, crochet detailing. Accessories start at £20, and prices rise to £285 for Sea NY’s signature quilts (which would usually set you back £600-plus).
“It was in Paris where I met Sean and Monica, the creative duo behind Sea New York, for the first time. A chance encounter that became a beautiful friendship, forged from a shared love for vintage-inspired pieces with a modern edge,” says Sézane founder, Morgane Sézalory.
The two brands have not worked together since producing a 2018 collection. They are now keen to continue merging the aesthetics of their home cities.
“We’ve continued to admire the evolution of Sézane through Morgane’s vision and it’s been a fun and inspiring journey to collaborate again. The collection is an expression of our friendship and reflects our shared embrace of an everyday style that still feels special and distinct,” say Sean Monahan and Monica Paolini, founders of Sea NY.
Look for your quilt jackets today, or start investing in the long-sleeve minis for when spring (eventually) rolls around.
