Shamed SNP council leader Jordan Linden has found a new life after politics... as a karaoke announcer.
Linden, 29, has been hosting sing-a-longs at a pub since leaving the political arena earlier this year. The sex pest was forced to step down as North Lanarkshire council leader last year and quit politics entirely in March after we revealed multiple allegations of sexual harassment made against him.
Since then the former SNP rising star has kept a low profile but was spotted last week working as a karaoke announcer at a Bellshill boozer. Linden kept New Coach House customers entertained and encouraged them to get up and perform during the pub’s weekly singing sessions.
One local told the Sunday Mail Linden seemed “in his element” at the venue and said: “ He didn’t act like anything was amiss and seemed to be in his element enjoying himself.
"I don't think other punters knew his background or much about him really but I’m sure if they knew he was the old council leader they’d have been pretty surprised.”
Yesterday a member of the New Coach house bar staff said Linden was a regular at their karaoke nights and had hosted some in the past. He added: "He may be here later and often gets up to sing."
As Linden hosted the karaoke night last Thursday voters were going to the polls to elect his replacement as their Bellshill councillor.
Only 22.7 per cent of the electorate turned up to case their ballots in the by-election before Labour’s Anne McCrory was declared the winner with more than double the number of votes of the SNP.
Despite their campaigning efforts, including a visit from First Minister Humza Yousaf, the party was unable to hang on to the seat which they have had since 2017.
Police are now probing claims of sexual assault and harassment against Linden following our reports.
