A serving officer in Lancashire Police has been charged with attempted murder after a woman was injured in a hotel.
James Riley will appears in court on Monday, Greater Manchester Police said in a statement on Sunday morning.
They said: “At approximately 11.30pm on Thursday 10 November 2022, police were called to a report of a concern for the welfare of a woman at a hotel on Brook Street, Manchester.
“Emergency services attended and the woman was taken to hospital, where she remains in a stable condition.”
Riley, 27, has been remanded in custody and will next appear at Manchester Crown Court on Monday 14 November 2022.
Lancashire Police have confirmed he has been suspended from duty.
