Harold Wayne Nichols was executed by lethal injection in Nashville, Tennessee, on Thursday for the 1988 rape and murder of 20-year-old Chattanooga State student Karen Pulley.
Nichols, 64, had confessed to the killing and multiple other rapes in the Chattanooga area. Despite expressing remorse at his trial, he admitted he would have continued his violent behavior had he not been apprehended. He was sentenced to death in 1990.
