South Dakota attorney general Jason Ravnsborg has been convicted in an impeachment trial over the 2020 car crash in which he ran over and killed a pedestrian.

Mr Ravnsborg, who is now automatically removed from his job as the state’s top law enforcement official, lied to investigators and abused the power of his office after he struck and killed a pedestrian, the impeachment trial heard.
