While Gomez had not publicly discussed her love for Cobain before, she had hinted at it over the years. In 2017, she dyed her hair blonde in a '90s-inspired look dubbed 'Nirvana Blonde' by her colorists. She also made references to Nirvana songs in her social media posts, further showcasing her appreciation for the iconic band.
