See it: Giants great Eli Manning becomes Chad Powers for PSU tryout

Eli Manning certainly appears to be enjoying life in retirement. He, along with his brother Peyton, have carved out quite a role for themselves in the media industry.

The ManningCast has become a worldwide hit. And “Eli’s Places,” which is produced by Peyton’s Omaha Productions, is also gaining a ton of traction.

On Monday, “Eli’s Places” went viral thanks to Chad Powers, a 26-year-old quarterback who attended a walk-on tryout for Penn State University.

“I wanted to see if the coaches would be interested in me,” Manning told The New York Post. “Head coach James Franklin was in on it, but didn’t really tell any of the other coaches.

“By the end of it, he knew something was going on, just because of the way I looked, and how I was telling receivers what routes to run and how to run them — and I was talking some football lingo that I shouldn’t know, but knew coaches would know. I’m sure they’re not getting what ‘read’ many walk-ons are working on.”

Manning said there was no script and that he simply tried to say something outrageous each time he spoke. And that obviously worked to perfection.

Almost immediately, Chad Power was the No. 1 trend in America.

The full Chad Powers episode of “Eli’s Places” can be viewed on ESPN’s YouTube page. And it’s worth every single second of the investment.
