See it: Giants GM Joe Schoen playing QB at rookie minicamp

The New York Giants hit the field for their first rookie minicamp practice on Friday but had just one quarterback on their roster of 80-plus players: Brian Lewerke.

That obviously presents a problem — even during a light practice — when drills are taking place on separate ends of the field.

The solution? The Giants fell back on a former college quarterback who just so happens to be their first-year general manager.

Joe Schoen? Come on down.

Schoen’s spiral left a bit to be desired, but not all of the reviews were terrible. Of course, not all were positive, either.

The rookies and veteran tryout players undoubtedly got a kick out of Schoen throwing passes. It shows that the attitude around East Rutherford is far more relaxed these days and gives hope for a brighter future ahead.
