See BGT's Simon Cowell completely fooled by act's massive 'lie'

BGT host Simon Cowell fell hook, line and sinker for an act's hilarious audition 'deception' in the latest episode of the ITV talent show. Viewers were also slow to pick up as the rug was pulled on their expectations as The Dots took to the stage.

It all seemed so normal as three women, Amanda, Rosie and Kathy, took to the stage of the London Palladium for the opening act of Saturday's Britain's Got Talent show. Anyone watching, or judging, would have expected one of those harmony groups and probably weren't expecting too much.

And when they explained that one of the singers, Kathy, was a last-minute replacement after 'creative differences' with the previous singer who had walked out the day before, hopes weren't perhaps high. The judges were told this was the first time they had performed together.

This prompted Simon to stop the women, saying: "Hang on, hang on. Don't, don't just throw that away. What happened?" Singer Amanda said: "She's a bit difficult, shall we say."

Judge David Walliams then said he was 'intrigued' and the act began. And it didn't get off to the best start, with 'new' singer missed her cue.

But when she continued to mis-time her role in the singing group, to increasingly hilarious affect, the penny finally dropped with Simon and viewers. It was all part of the act, as Kathy proceeded to lose her wig, give another singer a 'bloody nose' and generally become the act that goes wrong.

Simon did try to act himself, by saying he knew it was all part of the act right from the start. But he came clean by adding: "I'm actually getting really stupid aren't I? That was brilliant by the way because you really, really fooled me."
